FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
O the distance is estimated at about 2km, an owl would do it in a split second.
The tour is considered to be on the easy level (extra easy if you are a Quidditch player).
Yes. The tour is better suited for children over 3 y/0, but is open to potterheads of all ages. However, it is mandatory that minors be accompanied by an adult. Alternatively, they may bring a consent form signed by their legal guardian.
Yes, it is. There will be no inappropriate languege used nor improper scenes. That being said, as it is a walking tour, it’s important that you be mindful of the fact that we will be walking 2 km for 3 hours, which may be tiring for the little ones.
Yes, there are. The usual ticket is 30€, but children up to 5 y/0 (including) can join in for free and for children between 6 and 12 y/0 (including) their ticket will only cost 24,90€.
There will be butterbeer for sale separately, for those that don’t have a ticket but still want to have a full potterhead experience.
We advise, onde again, that you must take into account thatthe younger potterheads may not enjoy the tour as much if they are sleepy or if the walk proves to be too much for them.
The tour includes a “butter beer” for those with a ticket. It is made with ingredients with gluten and lactose. At the moment, there are no alternatives, but we are always looking into finding suitable solutions for the diet of all wizards. We are going to be serving two versions of of the “butter beer”, so no one feels left out: alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
If the weather is that bad in midsummer, first of all: damn it!; second of all: get ready for the adventure of a lifetime. Do like Hagrid does and don’t leave the house without your pink umbrella.
If we are forced to cancel the tour because of unforeseen extreme weather conditions, we will suggest an alternative date or a refund will be issued, through the same platform used to buy the ticket.
Yes. And if you find yourself in need of help, we’ll be there to lend a hand and get you past any obstacle in the way.
No, the tour will be exclusively outdoors.
The Hogwarts uniform is always suitable for any given occasion. However, keep in mind the following advice: comfortable shoes, a hat or cap, light fabrics, sunscreen and plenty of water.
Some tours will be held in English, others in Portuguese. Polyglot potterheads are at an advantage in the sense that they will be able to choose either. You should always check you ticket to be sure of the language of each tour.
There is no limit to the purchase of tickets, but the tours do have a maximum of 50 participants each. If you have more than that number of close friends, congrats but someone will have to wait for a next time. If that’s not the case, then yes – bring all of your friends! Just remember that if you are a minor you will have to come with an adult.
The meeting point will be at the entrance hall of the Bolhão metro/subway station (this one right here). The entrance is through the intersection of Santa Catarina St. with Fernandes Tomás St. or Alexandre Braga St.
Right now, the tours are held in Portuguese and English. We are looking into expanding our offer.

Reading passages and meeting characters from the books
Just as the school of magic wouldn’t look like anything but a dilapidated castle to the average muggle, and we know very well that it is much more than that, so could Porto be an enchanted place inhabited by your favourite characters, imagining their own narratives set on the Undefeated city. Words are, indeed, our most inexhaustible source of magic.

Fun among wizards
Share experiences with other fans of the saga that know exactly how you felt when Dobby died, when Ron and Hermione finally kissed or when the Weasley twins played a prank on Headmistress Umbridge. We solemnly swear we are up to no good and we hope you are not either.

GAME FROM THE SAGA AND BUTTER BEER
THE 7 MOMENTS
A guided tour of Porto, passing by its emblematic monuments and locations, pointing out connections between the city, J. K. Rowling’s biography and the characters and memorable episodes from each of the seven books.
1. The Philosopher's Stone
At 26 years old, Joanne arrived at Portugal with a dream. Even though J. K. Rowling isn’t Portuguese, it was on Porto’s cafés that she, as many other writers before her, found the inspiration needed to look in the mirror and immortalize the deepest, most desperate desires of her heart on paper. At the door of J. K. Rowling’s favourite café in Porto, there’s a never-ending rush of people and music, truly a magic beyond all others. Who wouldn’t be inspired?
2. The Chamber of Secrets
The dream was born on a train and, once it was brought to a city as culturally rich as Porto, it gained a solid platform of history, literature and mythology that transcends centuries and nationalities. But there is no fact without fiction, nor people without ghosts. And this city is full of ghosts. The most important thing is to not get left behind at the station and board the journey. If you don’t make it in time there’s no need to moan; you will find that help will always be given to those who ask for it.
3. The Prisoner of Azkaban
It was in Porto that the saga’s author met her friends and fellow English teachers to whom she dedicates the third instalment of the saga. The trio had many nights out swinging by different bars in Porto that were, at the time, an escape from the prison of daily grind. However, you need to be careful at all times as the world isn’t split into good people and Death Eaters, and danger can be hiding where you least expect it.
4. The Goblet of Fire
Lions, eagles, snakes and badgers, the four houses meet at the school’s staircase, but are never mixed up. Only when it’s time to compete with other wizards does everyone in Hogwarts come together for the greater good. You will soon find out that in Porto there are also certain places that tell tales of resistance in the face of dictators and heroes we take our hats off to, who knew they were only as strong as they were united, as weak as they were divided.
5. The Order of the Phoenix
Beyond the well-known and internationally acclaimed Porto, there is also a city in plain sight that goes unnoticed. Secret meetings require secret hideouts where the members can gather, get their plans in order and, in the face of defeat, be reborn from the ashes; However, we are unable to elaborate any further on this: ask us no questions and we’ll tell you no lies.
6. The Half-Blood Prince
The Forbidden Forest is one of the most frequent backdrops of the saga, being absent only from the sixth instalment. We’ll have to make up our own story then, hiding among the trees from those who watch from the top of the tower. Beware: ever since the dementors stopped guarding Azkaban, one never knows where you risk running into one of them. Nevertheless, let us step into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.
7. The Deathly Hallows
If you had to answer a potterhead quiz, could you list all the Deathly Hallows by heart? After all this time, J.K. Rowling’s books will always be remembered for its hero crossing the path of his own death and resurrecting. With Harry, Ron and Hermione, we learned that one needs to build bridges to cross over swampy rivers. Half of this game only happens inside our head, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?
